Instead of navigating Andalucía by train and bus, we will be renting a car on our last morning in Sevilla and spending the rest of our honeymoon on an Andalucían road trip! This will enable us to move at our own pace and really make the most of our honeymoon. From Sevilla we will drive to Grazalema, Ronda, Estepona, Granada, Priego de Cordoba, Cordoba, and finally back to Sevilla for our last night. We wanted to spend a couple nights during our trip just holed up in a little apartment by the beach. Rory was unsurprisingly emphatic about being able to see the water from their room, so Steve found this perfect little place in Estepona. We are so excited to carve out this stop to unwind together.

This building began as a Visigoth basilica, before becoming an Aljama Mosque in the 8th century, and a Cathedral in the 13th century during the Reconquista. The history of Andalucía is built into this structure.

Once upon a time we had a coffee maker that was dying. We tried to replace it when we found the same model at Goodwill. It is also in its death throws now. But Rory's mom has this coffee maker and it's great!

Located in La Latina, Madrid's historic district, we will have a whole apartment to ourselves! La Latina is known for its tapas bars and open terraces, and is close to the city center, making this a perfect base of operations to kick off our honeymoon!

A long-awaited upgrade for Rory's beloved Kitchen-Aid Stand Mixer, Arlo! (Of course he has a name) As a bonus, if this comes in before the wedding, it will help Rory bake the wedding cake!

This blade will scrape the sides of the mixer as it goes, ensuring everything gets mixed evenly! Plus, when combined with the glass mixing bowl, Rory will then have two sets of bowls and two mixing blades, meaning she won't have to clean everything down in the middle of baking when she has to switch from batter to frosting. Hurray! As a bonus, if this comes in before the wedding, it will help Rory bake the wedding cake!

El Palacio Real de Madrid is the official residence of the Spanish royal family. It contains 3,418 rooms and is the largest functioning Royal Palace and the largest by floor area in Europe!

The Prado is widely regarded as the most important museum in Spain, with a prized collection of art. Let's go!

We will be staying here for three nights to start our honeymoon, and will return here for our last night before coming back home. Sevilla is Rory's favorite place in the world, and she can't wait to finally share it with Steve!!

Steve discovered Michelin restaurants and before we knew it, we had managed to get a reservation! The Michelin guide highlights the best restaurants across the globe--we're so excited to try our first Michelin restaurant!

On our way from Sevilla to Ronda, we will spend a day & night in the town of Grazalema. Grazalema is one of Spain's famed while hill towns, centuries-old former Moorish towns, and is located in the heart of Parque Natural de Sierra de Grazalema. We hope to spend our day exploring the town and going for a hike on the mountains!

The Parador Ronda is located steps away from the Puente Nuevo (pictured here), the bridge that spans the gorge at the heart of the city. From Ronda, we will be able to hike and visit a couple vineyards!

Bodega Vetas is an ecologically friendly vineyard near Ronda, and one of Andalucía's smallest. The land around Ronda produces some of the best wine in Spain--we're excited to try!

This network of lavishly decorated palaces and irrigated gardens is regarded as one of the most splendid sights in Europe. The palace as it stands today is a mid-13th century renovation to a fortress built in 899, which itself was built on top of Roman ruins. After the Reconquista in 1492, King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella ruled from the Alhambra and gave Christopher Columbus his commission.

The region around Priego de Cordoba is home to some of the best olive oil in Spain. Steve. Is. So. Pumped. To. Tour.

Organized around a traditional Andalucian courtyard, the Hotel Conquistador is as close as can be to Cordoba's historic mosque--so closed that the hotel was built around some of the ruins, which are now carefully preserved there. We are excited to be staying with history as we explore and learn about this ancient city!

Built by Alfonso XI in 1328, the Alcazar is a Mudejar style palace with splendid gardens. This is where Isabella + Ferdinand held court in the 15th century and launched their conquest of Granada. Sounds part-Alhambra, part-Alcazar de Sevilla--we're excited to visit!

Rory and Steve have matching french bulldog (Rory) and sloth (Steve) bedside lamps from this same collection. Help these Jumbos get a little elephante light for their guest bedroom and you can use it yourself next time you stay over!

After scouring the highways and byways of the internet, the Sonos Beam and Sonos One came back with stellar reviews! We've been getting by with a couple old computer speakers that you can barely hear from the kitchen, so we're very excited for quality sound in our living room and kitchen!

After starting our honeymoon with three nights in Madrid, we will be taking the AVE high-speed train to Rory's favorite city in the world--Sevilla! From Sevilla we will travel on through Andalucía, making a big loop that will end us back in Sevilla for our last night. Then we will take the same train back to Madrid to begin our journey home. Thank you for getting us to (and back from) the most magical city ever!

The Catedral (Cathedral) of Sevilla is the second largest in the world, and its tower, la Giralda, has the best views in the city! As an added bonus, we will do a special tour of the roofs! Views on views!

This spectacular palace and complex of gardens is where Dorne was filmed in Game of Thrones! It's also just incredibly gorgeous and one time Rory befriended a cat there.

Taberna Coloniales is Rory's FAVORITE restaurant ever! In the whole world. She spent the four months she lived in Sevilla bringing every person who visited there, and the ensuing nine years forcing everyone she ever heard of visiting the city to go in her stead. If we're spending 4-5 nights in Sevilla, Rory's going to want to go a minimum of 2-3 times :)

We are excited for the absolute treat that will be a two hour experience at AIRE Sevilla's turkish baths, including an hour massage.

We love this duvet cover! A highly-sought compromise between Steve's love of blue and Rory's apparent affinity for tassels and textures.

Shine Albaycín Hotel is located in a restored 16th century palace, just a 5 minute walk from the Alhambra. We are excited to stay at such a beautiful place while visiting the Alhambra and enjoying free tapas with each drink we order! (Seriously, this is a thing in all Granada bars. Why don't we do that here?)
