HELLO ALL! In the spirit of WANDER-ing MORE, we have decided to embark on a pretty serious life change. San Diego will always be the place we first called HOME together, but we are getting a bit restless and are ready to try something new. This October, we plan to uproot our small zoo of a family, and relocate to THE BIG EASY!! That’s right, NEW ORLEANS! No, not because we are such party animals that we just NEED round the clock parties, bucket sized drinks, and a bar on every corner; although we would be lying if we said we won’t partake, we are actually making the move to New Orleans to begin a new journey to become TRAVELING NURSES. We plan to spend a few months getting settled in a new city, get some jobs, and acclimate to an entirely new way of life as a married couple. In January of next year, we will begin a year of pre-reqs at Delgado Community College, near City Park. Assuming all goes well, we will then apply to the January 2019 nursing cohort, also at Delgado Community College, with a plan to complete the program in 2 years. It’s been quite a while since either of us has spent much time in school, but we could not be more excited about starting this journey TOGETHER. As a couple that has lived both on our own, and together, we have quite a few "things" that we will have to leave behind when we depart on our journey, so there are very few "things" that we can think to list that we need. IF you feel so inclined to give us a gift (other than your presence on our big day), we would love any sort of help that you can provide us with to get us to New Orleans, get settled in a new place, and possibly even put towards some of our tuition and other school costs. Of course, if there were some perfect gift out there that speaks to you and screams "Mike and Shawn", we would love for you to follow your heart on the gift that you think is best suited.
