Never slept in a yurt? A yurt is the Russian/Mongolian version of the tipi. It’s a sturdy, mobile structure well suited to cold and snowy environments. Mikael stayed in yurts during his travels in Mongolia years ago. Since then we have been eager to get one. We plan to get land and temporarily live in the yurt while we build or remodel a more permanent home for ourselves. In the future the yurt will be a guest house for friends and family to stay in when they come visit! This picture is from Camp Cody where we are getting married, and staying in a yurt!

Cliché, priviliged, and naïve it may be, our dream is to find a place somewhere in the country not too far from a city where we can live closer to the land and closer to our values. We scheme and dream about our future homestead constantly, growing our vision. Though we do not know precisely where in the wilds of New England our paradise awaits, any gift towards this fund will help us get there sooner. We hope you'll come visit, wherever we are!

Ash has always dreamed of riding in a hot air balloon and there is a company in the area we plan to travel in Dobbiaco, Dolomites region that can take us on our honeymoon, which also happens to fall on Ash's birthday! This picture was taken in that area- isn't it spectacular?!
