Amid a Minnesota blizzard in January 2019, Colin packed a U-Haul and moved to Nashville. Far from the familiar, that spring and summer he found comfort in Tennessee’s natural beauty. One day, he had a picnic on a boat dock in Wilson County, TN. As he raised a cracker topped with smoked salmon to his mouth, a kitten emerged from the nearby brush. “Feed me,” the kitten silently demanded, “Now.” Ever since, Colin and Michaela have been subject to Wilson Boat Dock Persons’s rule. Every year, as Colin’s birthday approaches, he asks for pie. Although Michaela prefers to follow a recipe with full integrity, she has always strayed upon reading “In a food processor...” “A blender should be good enough” she mutters. Cue the tearing.
