Viewing the Northern Lights has been a bucket list item for both of us and visiting Finland is the perfect opportunity to see them! The Arctic Igloo Village is nestled along the serene shores of Lake Ranuanjärvi, offering a peaceful and unforgettable setting in the heart of Finnish Lapland. Each cozy glass igloo is designed for comfort and warmth, while providing a panoramic view of the starry Arctic sky. With a bit of luck and clear skies, it’s the perfect place to witness the Northern Lights.

The Lampivaara Amethyst Mine is the only amethyst mine in all of Europe open to the public! During our Finland honeymoon, we’ll hop aboard a snowcat that takes us up a snowy mountain to reach the mine. Once there, we’ll join a guided tour and get the chance to dig for our very own amethyst crystals. Fingers crossed we uncover a beautiful gem—perfect for turning into a one-of-a-kind jewelry keepsake!

A polar icebreaker departing from Sweden will carry us across the Gulf of Bothnia. During the journey, we’ll have the chance to explore the ship, walk on the frozen sea, and even float among the ice while wearing survival suits.

North of the Arctic Circle, we'll embark on a thrilling 4 hour dog sledding adventure through the Finnish wilderness. During the trip, we will each be able to drive the sleds and hangout with the huskies (hopefully Rocky & Emma don't get jealous).
