The Nativity of our Lord Monastery is a place that has touched both of us immensely. The Monastery is an Orthodox Christian women's monastic community located in Kemp, TX, within the Diocese of the South, Orthodox Church in America. The Nativity Of our Lord Jesus Christ Monastery was activated as a monastic community in 2009 by Archbishop Dmitri and the Metropolitan of the OCA, Jonah. The 12.45 acre property consists of a farm house (hosting the current sister's quarters and St. Nicholas Chapel) and a recently renovated meeting and retreat center. Mother Barbara is the Abbess at the monastery and has played a large role in our relationship. She has strived to provide prayer and counsel to all of the world and she and the nuns at The Nativity Monastery have had a huge impact on us and hundreds of others all over the world. They have done all of this without a proper church. While there are plans for a church, everything costs money. We would love nothing more than for our amazing guests to be able to contribute towards this beautiful and impactful Monastery.
