We've tried to make as comprehensive of an itinerary as possible, but we'd still like to have some flexibility to try out experiences we might not yet know about. If you would like to facilitate a spontaneous adventure, or just generally help out with airfare or other travel expenses please contribute to our general honeymoon fund.

We will base out of the hotel Rapa Nui, which is located 8 km from Hanga Roa, on a 9.6 km2 plot of land, unsuitable for agriculture and containing no archaeological remains, explora Rapa Nui is located in a privileged location from which to explore the island.

One of our favorite parts of traveling is exploring the local gastronomy. We've picked out a few restaurants in Hanga Roa (the largest town on Easter Island) to eat, including some Chilean Seafood restaurants that we're especially excited about! We'll definitely be drinking some Chilean Pisco Sours, and probably comparing them to their original Peruvian versions, which our Peruvian friends Ricardo and Patricia tell us are undoubtedly better.

After long days of trekking, we're excited to come back to the Explora hotel in Patagonia, a place known for its incredible views, great food, and extremely comfortable accommodations.

This is a honeymoon after all, so while we will spend our days roughing it, we're looking forward to enjoying some delicious Chilean wine and food in the evenings.

We plan to spend a good portion of our time on surfboards, as Easter Island gets some amazing Pacific surf!

If you've never travelled "Marcella style", it means packing in as many activities as possible, back to back, all day, every day. After a few days like that, Ryan usually needs a massage to work out all the kinks, and Marcella might as well come along too...

Guided day trip to the southern mini islands, with panoramic views from the sea, archaeology, crystal clear waters, caves.

Need I say more? How awesome does this look?

Marcella will probably hate this guided trip because it involves fishing, but at least it will be on open ocean!

A guided hike to view the largest moai (giant statue) platform on the island, with panoramic views, petroglyphs and beach hiking. We enjoyed the ruins so much in Peru that we're both especially excited for this highlight!

A guided day trip to the quarry from which the giant statues were excavated. Apparently there are still 350 statues, moai in different conditions of burial and carving completeness.

This guided trek is to visit the only moai looking towards the ocean.

We're excited about this bike trip to ride along the coast next to moai, maybe at night?

More biking and statues! We have to make sure we have enough activities to keep Marcella occupied!!!

We're excited to spend a day exploring Patagonia with legs other than our own. This horseback ride includes 7 hours of panoramic views, native forests, and a picnic lunch.

Ryan is convinced that Marcella will hate ice climbing, and thus refuses to take her. Marcella hopes to prove him wrong with this guided trek that will allow us to strap on some crampons, hike along a glacier, and take a boat ride along the beautiful Lake Grey.

This will be one of our longer guided treks--a 25 km, 10 hour trip through the Valle del Silencio that will take us through an old growth forest and include some beautiful views and a glimpse of the Paine Towers.

This guided hike will take us to the base of Torres del Paine, the distinctive three granite peaks of the Paine mountain range, or Paine Massif. The trip is 18 kilometers and will allow us to ascend 750 meters. We'll be sure to spend a couple of days acclimating first!

We suspect there might be at least one evening where we'd like to soothe our aching muscles by enjoying a cocktail and the gorgeous view.
