In the hubbub of dissertations, job applications, and planning a move, we have decided to postpone our honeymoon until December. We haven't decided where we are going yet...but we appreciate your help getting there!

We're moving to Philadelphia!!! We are leaving Minneapolis after finishing our degrees in August and heading off to our next step. Maddie will be a postdoc at University of Delaware, studying and implementing parenting interventions for families of young children. Meanwhile, Will is going to be a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology at Widener University. We are sad to leave Minneapolis but excited for what comes next! Except for the moving part. We are NOT excited about that. We greatly appreciate your help with the expenses of an interstate move. Anything left over will go into our down payment fund for a future home.

People Serving People is the largest family-focused shelter in the Twin Cities. In 2017, PSP served more than 3000 individuals from 1100 families experiencing homelessness; almost two-thirds of their guests were children. Throughout her time as a graduate student, Maddie has spent a great deal of time at PSP, conducting research on predictors of risk and resilience in young children experiencing homelessness. The Perkins mission is to prepare children and young adults who are blind with the education, confidence and skills they need to realize their potential. Maddie and her family saw this firsthand while Maddie's sister (and maid of honor!) Rachel was a student at Perkins School for the Blind, located in Watertown, MA. Rachel graduated in 2012 and continues to use the academic and practical skills she acquired at Perkins to navigate life as independently and confidently as possible. We are so proud of Rachel and would love to support the Perkins mission through your generous donations.

Reading Partners is a (local and national) organization that aims to increase reading proficiency among students in 13 Twin Cities schools using personalized community mentorship.
