It would mean the world to us if our wedding helped our favorite charities thrive. Below is a brief summary of the organizations that are near and dear to our hearts (please feel free to donate directly or contribute to our fund which we will divide equally between the 4 causes):EDIBLE SCHOOLYARD (www.edibleschoolyard.org)-The mission of the Edible Schoolyard Project is to build and share an edible education curriculum for kindergarten through high school. They envision gardens and kitchens as interactive classrooms for all academic subjects, and a free, nutritious, organic lunch for every student. Integrating this curriculum into schools can transform the health and values of every child in America.VICTORY INSTITUTE (www.victoryfund.org)-During an election year, LGBT political action committees are a vital part of making sure that candidates from the community are supported and have the resources needed to fight against anti-LGBT legislation. The Victory Fund is the oldest LGBT political fund in the U.S., and its Victory Institute trains future political leaders for fellowships and internships in government. These LGBTQ voices have made significant contributions to advancing equality for LGBTQ Americans – from passing non-discrimination laws to defeating amendments to ban marriage equality.PETSMART CHARITIES (www.petsmartcharities.org)-PetSmart Charities wants to end animal homelessness, and they're doing it by investing in over 3,000 animal welfare charities all over North America. Their efforts have facilitated 1 out of every 10 pet adoptions in America - that's over 7 million pets (including our dog, Mooshu)!TREVOR PROJECT (www.thetrevorproject.org)-One of the most well-known LGBTQ organizations out there, the Trevor Project provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services, including a 24-hour hotline. The Trevor Project's mission is to "end suicide among gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning young people," who tend to have higher rates of suicidethan the general population.
