The Gentle Barn is a rescue shelter for abused animals with locations in California, Missouri and Tennessee. They also do great work rescuing livestock animals from factory farms, even driving across the country to pick them up and nurturing them back to health from even very dire circumstances. Akari Light Sculptures by Isamu Noguchi are considered icons of 1950s modern design. Designed by Noguchi beginning in 1951 and handmade for a half century by the original manufacturer in Gifu, Japan, the paper lanterns are a harmonious blend of Japanese handcraft and modernist form. The lamps are created from handmade washi paper and bamboo ribbing, supported by a metal frame.

Art industrial in its aesthetic and sculptural in its presence, with references to Brutalist architecture, Studio Anansi’s Brut bar cart poetically marries the hard rawness of brushed stainless steel with a semi-translucent resin. Traditional wheels are here replaced with a metal base, giving the cart a structural permanency.

Astier de Villatte’s ceramic pieces are handmade in Paris of black terracotta clay with their signature glossy white glaze. Inspired by 18th and 19th century designs, each piece is entirely unique.

All our ceramics are produced, glazed and finished by hand by artisans in Valencia, Spain. They can sometimes be more fragile than industrial objects and require special care. Due to the nature of the product and handmade process colour and shape may vary slightly.
