"While working in the print industry for over a decade, we grew tired of printing on the same stock materials, which lead us on a quest to manipulate the printing processes in order to print on new materials. At the same time, we were carefully watching the the evolution of high quality cameras in mobile phones; seeing people taking photos, but often do little with them besides sharing them on social media. This led us to create Inkdot, an online print company giving an affordable option to people wanting to print their photos on stunning high-end materials, including wood and metal. Our distinctive printed products allow people to bring the stories behind their images back to life again in a tangible way. InkDot takes your image and infuses it directly into the wood/aluminum/coasters. Using this technique, InkDot is capable of achieving depth and vibrancy to the prints that is not achievable using traditional printing techniques. The process of printing directly into the wood allows for the natural wood grains to come through the image; colors pop off the natural birch to create a one of kind print.
