For the first part of our trip, we're going to explore Maui's Upcountry. This beautiful part of the island is responsible for most of Maui's produce and is home to many working cattle ranches, one in particular, Ulapalakua, has been around since 1845. We can't wait to get a taste of their famous elk burgers and smokey barbecued Kalua pork. We've also read the stargazing is supposed to be something incredible.

We've heard you can't leave Hawaii without seeing it from the sky. We tend to agree—that view looks pretty unforgettable. We're heading to the west side of the island and then just across the pond to Molokai.

There's no shortage of amazing restaurants with views of the Maui coastline. The first thing we do before any trip is scout out the top places to eat—from the hole-in-the-wall dives to the renowned restaurants—and we promise to eat our way through Maui and come back with recommendations! At the top of our list is Mama's Fish House, Migrant, Pacific'o, and Ka'ana Kitchen.

For the second half our trip, we're hitting the Hana Highway—a 68-mile stretch famously known to some as the most beautiful drive in the world. At the end of this journey lies our own private paradise nestled in the rainforest. Of all the places on the island, Hana retains the atmosphere, landscape, and culture of old Hawaii.

We'd like to spend an afternoon at O'o, an 8.5 acre natural farm on the slopes of Haleakala at 3500 feet. During the week, they offer an informational and interactive tour of the farm that includes harvesting your meal followed by a gourmet lunch prepared by Chef Caroline.

We're going to need some rugged wheels to get around the island.

Within the volcanic walls of Molokini Crater, there are a host of tropical fish, manta rays, and the occasional shark. The crystal clear waters make this one of the best spots in Maui for snorkeling.

Sunrise at the top of Halekala is a sight not to be missed. Bike Maui offers a 90-minute tour of Halekala National Park, followed by a 23-mile descent on two wheels. There's no time limit, so we'll have the entire afternoon to take in the scenery.
