The Little Light Fund (LLF) is dedicated to making the lives of medically-fragile children better. Through fundraising and awareness events, LLF aims to shine a light on this vulnerable population. LLF highlights organizations and individuals who are making a difference in the lives of these children. LLF provides funding for one project a year that is related to the goal of making the lives of these children better and brighter. The Little Light Fund derives from the song, “This Little Light of Mine,” which reminds the bride and groom of Kiran Theis (son of LLF founders Uma Amuluru and Jack Theis) who lived with a serious brain disorder called lissencephaly.

Bellevue Hospital in New York City is the oldest public hospital in the United States. As part of her NYU Obstetrics/Gynecology residency, Julia and her colleagues spend much of their time at Bellevue, caring for the most under-served and disenfranchised women of NYC. Equipment at the Ob/Gynecology clinic is extremely limited, with only one ultrasound machine available for 1000’s of patients, often forcing patients to wait countless hours for time-sensitive results. Please help us to collect funds to purchase a new ultrasound machine for the clinic.
