For the first part of our Safari, we'll be staying at the Tortilis Camp. The Camp has a prime location for witnessing the majesty of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro. It's named after the flat-topped, umbrella thorn tree, the Acacia Tortilis, and embraces a hill in one of Amboseli’s areas of Acacia Tortilis woodland.

The top of Jake's bucket list! We'll have close encounters with gorillas in Rwanda where we'll get to see these great primates undisturbed in their natural setting.

Our first Safari we will take! Covering an area of 870 km2 (335 mi2), Meru is one of the best known national parks in Kenya. The diversity of landscape is impressive and ranges from woodlands on the slopes of the Nyambeni Mountains to wide open plains along riverbanks dotted with doum palms. Wildlife includes elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and cheetah as well as black rhino and the elusive lesser kudu. There have been about 300 species of birds recorded in the park.

We'll visit the Sheldrick elephant orphanage, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the protection of wildlife and the preservation of habitats in East Africa. One of the many wonderful things they do is to rescue and rehabilitate orphaned infant elephants. We'll also be making a donation to "adopt an orphan" that will directly benefit the organization.

We'll visit with the rare and endangered Rotchild's Giraffes and learn about the conservation efforts to protect and restore wild populations.

Our honeymoon wouldn't be complete without a few dives! This has become something we love to do together and we'll be visiting a few reefs on the edge of Zanzibar.

Help Lizzie take her love of coffee to the next level. On Day 1 of our African adventure, we'll be making a special trip to a coffee farm. We'll see how coffee is grown, picked and processed. And yes, we'll get to try it.
