We've heard these are a necessity for keeping feet warm at night, and they seem much more suitable than the coal-powered bed warmers from earlier times.

Diptyque Candle
We're kind of obsessed with Diptyque's candles, which we first found when we were searching for a good smelling present for Andrew's sister, Amanda, while we were on vacation in San Francisco. After spending at least 30 minutes smelling and resmelling every candle in their shop, this was our favorite. Thankfully, they're sold in London, too!

Dining Table + Chairs
Group gift
We don't really know how much space we'll have in our new flat, but we're going to assume it will be tiny! At any rate, a set of table & chairs like this one would do well to give us room to eat, and be out of the way when not in use. This particular set is from the Peanut Vendor, a vintage shop in Islington, London, and we hope to find something similar from them, or another nearby vintage shop.

Cookbooks
One of our favorite ways to treat ourselves (and each other) is with a nice cookbook. We can almost always justify purchasing a cookbook--they're beautiful, inspiring, educational, and highly useful! We already own a few cookbooks by some of our favorite chefs living in London--no doubt we'll soon have a list of more that we'd like to own!

A Fancy Coffee at Monmouth
It seems a little hard to come by regular (read: American-style) coffee in the UK, although there are several places that we love that are serving non-espresso based coffees. Monmouth is our favorite we've tried so far, and, until we have a flat of our own (with a French press and a kettle), we expect we'll be frequenting Monmouth for a morning brew!

Dinner at 19 Numara Bos Cirrik I
It *just so happens* that Turkish food is one of our favorite cuisines, and it *just so happens* that the neighborhood where we'd like to live has the highest density of Turkish restaurants in London. (It also *just so happens* that we'll be just down the street from Emirates Stadium, home to Andrew's favorite team, Arsenal). Coincidences aside, wherever we decide to live, we'll definitely be making the trek to Dinner at 19, which we've heard has some of the best Turkish food in London.

Neal's Yard Dairy Cheese Box of the Month
We both love cheese, but Andrew has especially grown his appreciation (obsession?) over the last few months, working in the cheese department at Whole Foods. We both love Neal's Yard Dairy, and what they have done for the dairy industry in Britain, and also what they have done for consumers, in that more cheese are now available! This Cheese Box of the Month would allow us to try a "balanced, seasonal selection" of 4 pieces of cheese from Neal's Yard Dairy, along with tasting notes and some information about the cheeses and cheesemakers.

Butchery Class with the Ginger Pig
The Ginger Pig began over 20 years ago, with three pigs. Now they are one of the best-regarded British farms, supplying 6 of their own butcher shops in London. They offer several classes on butchering beef, pork, lamb and one on making sausage. Each classes last three and a half hours and includes a hands-on butchery lesson and a two-course supper with wine, as well as the joint or sausages you have prepared in your class to take home.

Bokashi Bran (3 month supply)
Bokashi Bran is the heart of Bokashi Composting. It is a dry mixture of bran and molasses that has been inoculated with beneficial micro-organisms, a carefully controlled mixture of microscopic bacteria, yeasts and fungi that work together to speed-up composting, suppress pathogens, prevent putrefaction and eliminate foul odours. We will use this, along with the Bokashi Bucket, to help compost food scraps and provide nutrients for the soil in a container garden!

Bokashi Bucket
Bokashi is the best method for composting indoors in small spaces. Bokashi is a mixture of beneficial bacteria, yeasts and fungi that work together to speed-up composting, suppress pathogens, prevent putrefaction and eliminate bad odors. When you combine food scraps with the Bokashi in the bucket, the beneficial micro-organisms in the Bokashi get to work treating your waste in a process that takes just a couple of weeks. What's left can be incorporated into your soil, releasing large quantities of soil boosting probiotic micro-organisms which nourish the soil naturally.

Groundling Tickets (for two) to Shakespeare's Globe

The first time we went to London together, Kelly made Andrew go see a Richard III with her at the Globe the same say our flight arrived. We were tired from traveling, and (as you can see) it was raining, and we had groundling (standing) tickets in the open-air theatre. Despite that, it was so much fun! We don't know what will be playing yet next season, but we're excited about being able to go and enjoy a show again (maybe on a less rainy day, and definitely not right after traveling for 10+ hours).

Dinner at Silk Road
Purchased
We first heard about this restaurant from the Vice program "Munchies" (a series of semi-celebrity chefs have a night out in their favorite places, eating and drinking, and then return to their own restaurant to cook for their staff & friends). From the web site, "Silk Road quietly churns out favourites from the north-west frontier province of Xinjiang. Dishes can be fiery, but are also balanced with a plethora of spices, a legacy from the Silk Road that ran through the desert area, transporting treasures from east and west. The cuisine of Xinjiang’s Turkic Uighur Muslims, the area’s largest minority, exhibits many of the hearty traditional standbys found around Central Asia – notably kebabs and dumplings – but with a bold Chinese influence, bringing a spiciness and vibrancy its counterparts elsewhere can lack." In the spirit of British endorsement, let us just say, "Quite possibly one of the new places we are most excited about trying."
