After leaving the quieter French side of the island, we plan to stay at a lively hotel in the bustling Dutch side. At this hotel, we'll get the best of both worlds with access to a gorgeous white sands beach, while also being walking distance from tons of restaurants, shopping, and bars. It's party time!

While we'll spend some time relaxing, we also plan to get around and adventure! We'd like to rent a car to road trip around the island and explore all the restaurants, beaches, and amazing sights there are to find. The island is split in half, with the French-owned St. Martin on the north and the Dutch-owned Sint Maarten to the south. The French side is more peaceful, with quieter beaches, snorkeling spots, and rainforest hikes, while the Dutch side has bars and restaurants, shopping, and active adventures! We can't wait to explore and experience both.

For our honeymoon, we plan to travel to the Caribbean island of St. Martin. St. Martin is a small island near the Virgin Islands and Anguilla, with the north side of the island controlled by France and the south by the Netherlands. The first and most important part of our honeymoon is getting there! We'd appreciate your support in helping us fly from California down to the Caribbean. This 10 hour cross-country flight will be our first leg toward our adventure!

For the first half of our honeymoon, we plan to stay on the quieter French side of St. Martin. This private condominium has a panoramic view of the Bay of Grand Case and steps that lead right down to the beach. A walk down the expansive Grand Case beach will lead us to the downtown of Grand Case, which is known for its French influence and as a local European gourmet center. After the wedding, we can't wait to lounge on the beach and experience a slice of Carribbean and European heaven! :)

On the first full day of our honeymoon, we hope to check out the quaint downtown of Grand Case, which is known for its variety of restaurants and cafes. First on the list is Calmos Cafe, a brightly-painted cafe just off the beach. Known for its cute outdoor patio and tiki drinks, we can't wait to see if this holds up to Hula's at home (if you know you know). Once we've finally adjusted to the time change and gotten accustomed to our slice of paradise, we'd very much enjoy a couples massage at this spa in Grand Case. Julian would love this after getting through the wedding madness, and if you know Kayleigh she is incapable of relaxing, so this would be a delightful treat! This spa is short walk down the beach from where we hope to stay, so after our massage we could take a dip in the warm water and head back to our hotel. :) We would be so appreciative of this gift from you!

We are especially excited about honeymooning in St. Martin as we'll get to experience the Caribbean and a little bit of Europe at the same time, and this restaurant seems to capture that well. Just north of St. Martin is the island of Anguilla, a British territory known for its white sands beaches, secretive coves, and stunning cliffs. We'd love to take a day tour from Grand Case on a catamaran to snorkel in quiet, rarely-visited coves; cliff jump if we are feeling brave; and walk on pristine beaches only accessible by boat. This day tour also includes lunch and drinks on the catamaran in the beautiful turquoise water! We think this will be a highlight of the trip and will become a cherished honeymoon memory.

With a view of the ocean and romantic atmosphere, we think dinner at Le Cottage may be one of our favorite destinations planned for our honeymoon. Grand Case is known for having several fresh fruit markets along the main stretch of its quaint downtown. Today, we'll continue exploring and hopefully find some tropical treats and a fun breakfast! This will be one of the most unique and memorable experiences on our honeymoon! Tijon is a French parfumerie that offers guests a perfume/cologne making class, where a parfumer will teach us how to make our own custom perfume and cologne. With over 300 oils and extracts to choose from, the goal of the class is to create your own signature fragrance. Tijon will also record our unique formulas so we can re-order our created fragrance for years to come. It would be so memorable to create our own perfume and cologne on our honeymoon, and have our own special fragrances to use for birthdays, anniversaries, and all special occasions to come in our future together. :)

This beachfront bar and restaurant is apparently a must-do for those staying in Grand Case. Guests may choose to have their dinner and drinks either in the restaurant or on the beach, and the menu boasts a variety of tapas and daily desserts depending on the chef's mood! Later in the evening, it tends to pick up with party-goers and live music. This would be an amazing treat to have a night out on the town! Well, a night out on the beach. :)

St. Martin is known for its "lolos," or beachfront shops serving fresh seafood and Caribbean fare. Sky's the Limit is apparently the best in Grand Case, where Julian can indulge in some fresh-caught seafood and Kayleigh can enjoy the many fried fruit/veggie sides that traditionally accompany! On this day in St. Martin, we plan to drive to the east side of the island to explore Orient Bay, a small French town situated on an expansive beach. Our first stop will be Mango Cafe, a breakfast spot known for crepes, fresh fruit, and delicious breakfast beverages. The Isla de Pinel is a small, uninhabited island that is a ten-minute ferry ride from Orient Bay, where we'll be exploring for the day. This island is surrounded by a marine reserve and is known to have some of the best snorkeling in the Caribbean. The self-proclaimed best breakfast in St. Martin for 15 years, it seems we just have to check out this place! With craft breakfast creations, pastries, and many types of eggs benedict, we look forward to walking out of here stuffed. This Godfather-themed Italian restaurant in Philipsburg has a large pasta menu and an even larger wine menu! We'd be so happy to continue our celebrations with wining and dining and topping it off with their acclaimed tiramisu. We'd be grateful for the treat from you :)

Topper's Rum Distillery boasts the "World's Best Tasting Rhum" made right here in St. Martin. We hope to take a tour of the 6,000+ square-foot distillery, learn about the history of rum distilling in the Caribbean, and have a chance to try plenty of samples! (Don't worry, we can stumble along the beach back to our hotel). If you're able to treat us to this tour, we'll bring you back some rum!

After our day on the water, we'd love to stop for lunch at Da Waterhole. This spot has local favorites including some American food options we may be missing by this point of our honeymoon, such as pizza, fries, and garlic bread. Especially the fries. Yum! Thanks if you'd like to treat us!

The next bay over from our hotel at Sapphire Beach is Mullet Bay, which is known for its clear, calm blue waters. We are thinking of renting some glass-bottom kayaks to see as much sea life as we can, but if we are feeling brave there is also an option for jetskis! Might be a game-day decision, but we'd be so excited to have either adventure.

This dinner spot overlooks Maho Bay in Philipsburg, and has a long list of fun frozen cocktails to choose from. In addition to fun food and drink, the main attraction of this restaurant is that it faces the runway of St. Martin's airport and guests get to watch planes come in to land right over the water. We'd love the chance to have a lovely dinner and see the planes land overhead!

During our stay on the southern, Dutch side of the island, we'd love to pop into this charming cafe to get breakfast overlooking the beach. Although the name is a bit ridiculous, David's Hole is a geological marvel along the northern coast of St. Martin. This sinkhole forms a natural swimming pool and is known for having some of the best snorkeling on the island! We hope to rent some snorkel gear, check it out, and spend a few hours taking in the sights, above water and below.

At this point we are nearing the end of our honeymoon! To begin wrapping up our celebrations, we'd love one last night on the town and to walk amongst the many beachfront bars in the Dutch city of Philipsburg. As we start out on the adventure of marriage, we can start with a truly wild adventure here at Rockland Estate! This high-thrill mountain destination has two chairlifts that will take us to the highest point on the island to overlook Philipsburg and views to the French side of the island to the north. At the top, we'll take the Flying Dutchman, the world's steepest zipline (yep!) down 2,800 feet at speeds of 50+ miles an hour. If we can survive this, we can survive each other :)

"St. Maarten," the Dutch-owned half of the island, offers a unique blend of Dutch and Caribbean style food, and we hope to have a lovely dinner at the Lazy Lizard. This restaurant boasts a diverse rum bar and overlooks the Great Bay south of Philipsburg - we'd love the virtual cheers from you!

On our last full day on the island, we'll head up to the Quarter D'Orleans, a seaside village on the eastern side of St. Martin. This town was the first French settlement on the island and has a historic, charming main street. As we explore the town, we'd love to stop for breakfast at this boulangerie, where we will try (and fail) to order something in French and enjoy the European ambiance. Your treat would be so appreciated!

Parotte Ville is a "bird park" in St. Martin that hosts over 25 species of parrots and tropical birds, and lets visitors enter an aviary to feed and observe the birds (or, more likely, have the birds land on your shoulder!). We anticipate that this may be one of our favorite stops on the island, and would love the treat from you to go and see the birds. :)

You've made it to the end of our registry and this will be the final send off for our amazing honeymoon! To celebrate our new marriage and to end our trip with one last romantic experience, we hope to go on this 3-hour dinner cruise, which will travel along the island's southern coastline. As we enjoy our last luxurious meal and drinks, we'll be so grateful to have each other and share this incredible experience! Creole Rock is a rocky island off the shore of Grand Case and is known as one of best and most popular snorkeling spots on the island. We hope to book a snorkeling tour, where our own guide will take us out on a boat to the island and show us the best snorkeling areas around Creole Rock. With fish, turtles, rays, and dazzling coral, hopefully this meets Julian's high standards for underwater sights! This would be a fun adventure to do together and we'd appreciate the gift from you.

La Villa is an upscale French restaurant in Grand Case that is known as a romantic destination for traveling couples! Looking at the menu ahead of time, we see there is French onion soup, fish in a toasted almonds butter cause, coconut-crusted veggies, and chocolate lava cake.... yum! We are expecting this experience to be one of our top honeymoon adventures! At String Beach on the east side of the island, we plan to attach ourselves to a small parachute and be pulled by a speedboat. With enough speed, we'll fly over the spectacular blue water off the coast of St. Martin. Neither of us have done anything like this and we are so excited to share this thrill together! Can't go on a trip anywhere with Kayleigh without learning some local history! Fort Louis is a historic French fort in Marigot that overlooks Marigot Bay, built during the reign of King Louis XVI to defend Marigot's harbor. Fun history facts aside, this fort is located at the top of a hill with a panoramic view of the beach and the entire island, and will be a super cool stop on our way down to the Dutch side of the island.

A sweet treat! Absolutely necessary. After our fun snorkeling day, we'd love to walk down the beach to a cute gelato shop and enjoy our dessert. Sometimes the little things in life are the best :)

Since our house is small, we'd love to be able to host guests in out backyard. We have big plans to put in a patio and create a lovely outdoor space where we can have friends and family over, and to enjoy the nice weather when we have it :)
