While there are admittedly a few questionable outliers on this list (one of us loves punk, the other will vehemently defend the need for both ELO and The Big Chill soundtrack), we generally agree more often than not, particularly where David Bowie is involved. We have several stacks of books just waiting for us on the flight from New York City to Sicily, via Rome.

The last leg of our trip--a few days in Rome to close out our Italian adventure and spend some time in a city we've both traveled to, but never together. (We understand we're not allowed in the Trevi Fountain.)

Taormina, a small hilltop town on Sicily's east coast, will be our home base for most of our honeymoon. We're planning on decompressing by reading by the pool (perhaps not this one from a 1960s Slim Aarons photo, but one can hope...), hiking the nearby nature preserves, touring the Greek and Roman ruins and visiting the region's wineries at Mount Etna. We'll be a short train ride away from Palermo and other charming Sicilian villages avoiding people on Godfather shoot tours.

A special flight with a bit more legroom. (One of us is 6'3; the other never sleeps much on transcontinental flights.)

We'll finish up our trip with a couple of days in Rome finding our way to charming outdoor dining, filled with good wine and pasta.

Our favorite wine. We're members of the wine club but always seem to run out in between shipments. (PSA: If you find yourself in Sonoma, go say hello. It's the best wine room in downtown Healdsburg. Excellent music on vinyl, good food, lovely people.)

An obsession since seeing it in the (very posh) bathroom of one of our favorite SoHo restaurants, Cafe Altro Paradiso.

Italians love an afternoon Aperol Spritz (with an olive), espresso or Amaro. We'll happily abide when in Rome.

We're excited to build our record collection, despite differing opinions on certain classic rock staples. (Luckily we agree far more ofter than not, particularly where David Bowie and Paul Simon are involved.) We've compiled an album list here if you see anything that makes you feel nostalgic --we'd love the backstory, too.

While in Taormina on Sicily's east coast, we'll visit the slopes on the still-active volcano of Mt. Etna. (There is some hiking involved to counterbalance the wine. We thank you in advance for the extra steps.)

We'll be spending a little over a week in Sicily, split between Taormina, a seaside resort near the base of Mt. Etna, and Palermo, on the north side of the island. Food is one of the biggest highlights of the trip for us. Sitting between cultures, Sicilian cuisine is unique (and full of octopus and almonds and pasta and minerally wine). Whether it's a well-researched reservation spot or a tiny cafe we wandered past on a walk in the Medieval quarter, our meals will undoubtedly be one of the most memorable parts of our time in Italy.

Knife skills will inevitably increase with this beautiful board.

Perfect for steak frites. Now if only our smoke alarm wouldn't go off every time we attempt to grill indoors...

If you've ever peeked inside our fridge, you'll see Katie has a penchant for sparkling water, of all types. Perrier. LaCroix. Polar (that's from Maine!). Topo Chico. Mountain Vally....it looks like a WeWork fridge in there. This seems like a reasonable replacement.
