Our engagement took place on the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge, a place that is very near and dear to us. Hurricane Helene hit exactly four weeks after our engagement and completely destroyed the bridge. Umstead State Park is a place that we have spent countless hours, hiking, running, and biking. In 2023 we hiked every official trial in Umstead as part of a yearly goal.
