We are so excited to explore the Mediterranean on the Norwegian Viva in May, the cruise starts in Italy and ends in Turkey over the course of 10 days.

Enjoy a scenic drive to Dubrovnik's viewpoint, with stops in seaside Cavtat, Konavle region for a winery tour and tasting, and free time in Old Town.

Cruise the sheltered waters between the Pelješac Peninsula and the mainland in a wooden boat and sample the succulent oysters and mussels that are farmed there. These mineral-rich bi-valves have been coveted since ancient times and most every restaurant in this part of Croatia serves them. While on board the boat, you will observe how the oysters and mussels are farmed and then taste them just moments after they are plucked from the sea.

You’ll have the opportunity to admire some of the most important sites of Athens such as Constitution Square, the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, Temple of Zeus, Royal Palace, and the Old Marble Olympic Stadium. Sights include the Propylaea, Temple of Apteros Niki, Erectheum and Architectural Triumph of the Parthenon.Wander around the picturesque streets of Plaka, the old preserved district of Athens with numerous art and craft shops, restaurants and cafes.

Enjoy a panoramic drive through the most historical areas of Istanbul at night, when the city will be illuminated and absolutely mesmerizing. Upon returning back to Galata Bridge, you will settle in at a restaurant for a traditional dinner. Chances are, seafood will be on the menu.

Enjoy some of Santorini’s highlights when you visit a well-known, quality winery and the beautiful village of Oia. You’ll stop at one of the island’s finest wineries where you’ll taste some of the best wines in Santorini. Continue on to picturesque Oia, situated on top of an impressive cliff and enjoy the unrivaled, spectacular views of the Aegean.

Ever think of taking a boat ride to an active volcano and hike its gravel terrain? Board your local boat “caique” from the old port of Santorini for a 15 minute trip up to Nea Kameni. En route, admire the volcanic shores with the peculiar shape formations of the black volcanic rocks and the white pumice. After disembarking, a steep and fast paced 30 minute, 3/4 mile hike on rocky and gravel terrain takes you to the crater of this still active volcano.

Paddle a kayak through the sheltered waters of the Bay of Kotor, admiring the natural beauty of the fjord-like landscape and the walled medieval city of Kotor. As you paddle along the nearly four-mile route, the guide will point out architectural highlights and natural wonders, so your understanding of the area will be all the more in depth. You will also have the opportunity to take a refreshing swim and snorkel in the bay’s crystal-clear waters.
