We bough a 95-year-old house and it requires a lot of fixing (like removing old knob & tube wiring) and renovation (like sanding and refinishing the hardwood floors that the previous owners covered in carpet). Although we're doing most of the work ourselves, the costs of materials and tools adds up. Cash gifts for the house are very much appreciated by these first-time homeowners!

This project involves removing the lathe & plaster walls to get to the old electrical and plumbing, installing new wiring and plumbing, insulating the walls (they never were!), and closing everything up with fresh drywall and paint.

Most of the windows in our house are 95 years old, single-pane, and have a lot of wear and tear. We'd love to replace them with modern, energy-efficient windows.

When we bought this house, we told each other, "we won't need to go on vacations, we love this house and getting to spend time in it." Whether we're in the dining room or the back yard, being able to enjoy our beautiful sunset view is much of the appeal of our house.
