Meiji Mura (明治村, meaning "Meiji Village") is one of Japan's best open air museums, displaying over 60 buildings from the Meiji Period (1868-1912). This era followed the end of Japan's feudal age, and its architecture is characterized by a strong influx of Western architecture.The theme park-like museum is located in Inuyama, one hour outside of Nagoya, in a vast wooded area next to Iruka Pond. It takes at least half a day to explore the spacious museum grounds and cover all of its exhibits.

The park strives to be at the forefront of theme park entertainment, and has been constantly opening new rides and attractions, including Guinness World Record breaking roller coasters.

The Toei Uzumasa Eigamura (東映太秦映画村, Tōei Uzumasa Eigamura; also known as Kyoto Studio Park) is a film set and theme park in one. Essentially a small town from the feudal ages, the park features a collection of various traditional buildings which are occasionally used as a backdrop for filming historical movies and television dramas.
