Every year, the prison industrial complex subjects thousands of youth across America to imprisonment, surveillance, and separation from their community. Students who could be in schools and in their neighborhoods are instead in cages. As an a teacher working with students every day, it has become exceedingly clear that prison is not a place for a child.

Jenny grew up in Albany Park, and our church is located in the neighborhood. As one of the most diverse zip codes in the country and a port of entry for immigrants, the newest administrations enacted policies and promised stances on immigration have directly threatened the people of Albany Park. This newly formed organization brings together stakeholders in the community to strategize how to keep families together and put an end to unjust immigration enforcement.
