We love this dinnerware from Mud Australia. To us, the colors and the profiles feel elegant and contemporary. This is the large plate -- it will be in a really nice off-white they call "milk."

This is the salad plate we picked out. (They have one they officially call a salad plate, but we liked the profile of this one better--the arc of the edge is gentler and more of a match for the large plate. This one will be in "steel" which is a deep blue.

This is called a bread plate but we are thinking of it as a dessert plate. It will be in a pale yellow they call "citrus."

"What a cool shape!" That's what we think. For soup, salad, cereal, and whatever the mind can imagine.

This one is for salad. Or whatever needs to be brought to the table in substantial quantity for a group.

This is a nice big mug. Come for brunch!

This one is going to be purple! It's going to be gorgeous!

We like this stuff. Kind of modern, but still classy and functional. The weight of the pieces is also really nice.

A burr grinder, we are told, helps ensure consistent particle size in coffee grounds, which is important for consistent and delicious flavor. It is true we are also registering for a Nespresso, but that is only one of our several coffee modalities, and a high quality grinder will serve the others admirably, we believe.

We heard these were really soft.

Handtowels, we have been told, are one of the keys to civilized living.

Ovals are special for us. Our engagement ring has Isaac's mother's oval diamond! We would like to have oval placemats to round out the theme!

We need these so we can stop serving you using paper napkins!

As the rest of the registry suggests, we love hosting dinner parties. And while we usually get more excited about the cooking supplies than the dining utensils, it wouldn't be a party without wine.

Sarah loves champagne. Period.

Brilliant friends of ours who did extensive research report that this is the best toaster oven a person can buy. We appreciate their research and are excited to get toasting!

Just picture these full of seltzer, because carbonated water is an important part of our lives. These are big enough to hold a substantial amount of liquid, but they are not clunky!

Sarah's mother made a delicious dinner for the Kaufmanns and the Zaurs using a fish poacher. Fish poachers bring families together.

It's amazing how many uses these things have. We actually have two strainers but they are pretty yucky and could use an upgrade.

Wait, did I say the stainless steel ones were super nice? THESE ones are so pretty we might almost be embarrassed to use them! Actually, we won't be embarrassed. We will just be happy.

They sure make pretty stuff, don't they?

We think this thing is going to change our lives. Just think about all the slicing!

So, Isaac especially is excited about this item. Copper is so beautiful, and this one is such a cool mix of classic Mauviel style with a modern, super-functional electroplated handle.

One of Sarah's favorite things to make is chicken-under-a-brick. This will allow us to make it without having to use an actual brick.

It's an interesting thing about cheap colanders: sometimes they don't last forever. This one, we expect will last forever.

Well, we sort of want everything that Le Creuset makes. This one seems especially elegant.

Our loyalty to Le Creuset notwithstanding, this is awesome.

To cut things.

Long story about this one. It has to do with making our own gravlax. Which is something we certainly think we might like to do.

We have some big knives, and some little knives, but we really don't have any medium-sized knives...

Cheese knives like these seem cool and weird. We really don't have anything like this. Well, we have a little cutting board, but no cheese knives...even though we really like cheese, and feeding it to people...

Sarah's mom had one of these when she was a little kid, and she remembers eating delicious chicken and pork that was cooked in it! And lamb!

First, our existing measuring cups are always being used and thus are basically always in the dishwasher when we need them. Also, these ones are super nice.

If you buy us this crepe pan, we will DEFINITELY have you over for crepes. What could be better?

We make lots of bread, but until now never baguettes. This is our path to baguette-land!
