Pen Pals a dog and cat adoption facility located in Jackson, LA. In 2013, our beloved dog Sausages was rescued by this shelter, where he was cared for until 2015 when Hannah adopted him. Help us to help this wonderful charity, who brought Sausages to our lives!Pen Pals is a no kill shelter located inside the Dixon Correctional Center. There, they rehabilitate those incarcerated while saving the lives of animals. Once they receive an animal they are vaccinated, de-wormed, tested for major diseases, and before they leave for their forever home, they are spayed/neutered. They work solely on donations and volunteer veterinary services. Until an animal is rehomed, they are always safe at Pen Pals.

Magic Happens Rabbit Rescue is a small network of volunteers who rescue rabbits other small pets. While centered in Baton Rouge, LA, their outreach extends even beyond state lines when needed. We offer education through classroom visits, event booths, and adoption screenings, but most importantly, we help unwanted animals find their new “furr-ever” homes.Magic Happens is the rescue that brought our bunnies Marshmallow, Puffin, and Biscuits to us. Freedom Reins is a Houston based charity which saves horses from extreme neglect, and rescues horses which are bound for slaughter in Mexico. Although horse slaughter is illegal in the USA, it is not illegal for horses to be transported to Mexico for slaughter. Many of these horses undergo long, torturous journeys with little food and water, and often with untreated injuries.They rescue, rehabilitate and adopt out horses to loving homes.
