Chichen Itzá blends the magic of ceremony and human sacrifice with the legacy of one of the most progressive civilizations of its time. This city of temples was built between the 6th and the 10th century A.D deep in the Yucatán jungle.
Among the most remarkable buildings, you see the Temple of Warriors, the group of a Thousand Columns, the platform of Venus, the Ball Court, the Snail and the Observatory. The most famous pyramid is the Kukulcan, who’s structure eerily represents today’s modern calendar. Each side counts 91 steps and the top being the last step to make 365. It is to this structure that thousands of people flock every equinox to see the shadow phenomenon, of the serpent descending the steps.
You expert tour guide will walk you through the site while explaining the history and mystery that shrounds the Mayan culture and ruins. Once your guided tour is completed, you will have a bit of free time to explore, buy souvenirs or take extra pictures.
