We will be staying in a couple Lemala properties throughout our trip, which is part of an authentic collection of lodges in Tanzania’s Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire regions - areas known for their sweeping views as well as vast array of wildlife including lions, elephants, wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, and antelope. Your generous contribution will go towards our lodge stays, meals, game drives, and more.

There only remain two tribes today in Sub-Saharan Africa permitted to live and hunt/gather exactly as they did thousands of years ago. We will be lucky enough to visit the remote Hadzabe Tribe. While there, we will witness their daily life including hunting, prepping, and cooking their fresh catch over an open fire. Your contribution will go towards our overnight accommodation!

Sundowners are a cherished African tradition and will form an integral part of our safari experience - including happy hour drinks around the camp fire with fellow travellers as the sun goes down over the Serengeti. Each gift will go towards Sundowner drinks for one evening :)

We will be joining the chefs and staff at a lodge we're staying at one day in helping to harvest fresh organic produce from the vegetable garden, which they will then immediately use to cook lunch or dinner!

His & Hers

This will go towards local cultural excursions while we are in Zanzibar, the final leg of our African adventure.

Ngorongoro Crater is the largest volcano crater in the world and a total hot spot for incredible wildlife including buffalo, zebras, and flamingos. We will be waking up at the crack of dawn for this excursion in an attempt to beat the day's crowds. Your contribution will go towards our transport to and from this natural wonder.

This generous gift will go towards our first game drive, which includes a tricked out vehicle and private guide.

Preservation of their proud traditions has set the Maasai apart from other indigenous groups in Tanzania, and embodies a side of Africa with which few outsiders can contact. We will have the memorable opportunity to interactively experience the Maasai way of life through an excursion to a traditional boma, where we will be able to participate in a variety of unique cultural activities.

Known for its unusual tree-climbing lions and vast elephant herds it was established to protect, as well as shores encrusted with pink flamingo and more than 400 species of birds. We will be doing just one morning game drive here and cannot wait!

Zanzibar’s night-time food market that's apparently a spectacular seafood extravaganza. This will be dinner one night!

We will be crafting, donating, and personally delivering a desk to a local school while we are there. This will go towards the purchase of local materials and carpentry cost.

One of the lodges we are staying at has an artists-in-residence program, where East African artists stay and create commissioned artwork. We are excited to meet some of these talented artists, and your generous contribution will go towards the purchase of something special to remember our trip by.

Once the site of a fisherman's post, The Rock restaurant sits in the middle of the ocean on a rock off the eastern coast of Unguja Island. We are planning to venture here for lunch one day! :)

This will go towards a wellness experience for two! We'll be choosing one of the various treatments offered at our lodge in the Serengeti, based on Maasai healing techniques and naturally derived treatments that draw from different indigenous plants.

We'll be doing a hike in the Elephant Caves, an area where for centuries elephants have apparently dug into the hills for necessary minerals and vitamins for their daily diet.

This sunset excursion will include sitting around a fire with local naturalists and a traditional healer, who will share stories about primates, culture, traditional medicine, Maasai legends, and tales of tribal folklore.

We will be ending our trip with a few nights on the island of Zanzibar. Your generous contribution will go towards our hotel during this final stop of our African adventure!
