Each day of our bike tour we stop for a scenic picnic lunch. Not sure how it'll work out biking for another four hours AFTER filling our stomachs with cheese, cured meats, and red wine... but the lunch sure sounds romantic!

Every Friday the Vatican opens up in the evening for reservation-only guided tours. Gotta get some culture in around all the relaxing at cafes!

Took my mom to the outpost they have in NYC. Great food and wonderful staff. The one in Rome is apparently the place to go for celebs and politicians (see pic). The New York manager told us he'd get us in if we wanted... Help us out and we PROMISE to get you Daniel Craig's autograph!

The best gelato in Rome happens to be right around the corner from our apartment! We will go there every night, because it's the right thing to do.

Help us get down to Florence, where we will begin our bike tour. Probably there will be a murder on the train that we will have to solve. That almost always happens in Europe.

We will want to relax after our three-day bike tour, so hopefully no murder mysteries on this one...

This restaurant has been serving food continuously since 1518... our goal is to get in before they've been open for a full 500 years! We're going to go on Thursday for gnocchi night.

Our apartment looks across the river at this crazy castle! There's a great museum that works its way up to a rooftop caffe where we can enjoy a spectacular view of Rome, along with a couple cappuccinos (or maybe some wine)...

We will be crazy and jet-lagged for our whole first day in Rome, so what could be better than delicious Roman pizza and a carafe of house wine?

We're doing a three-day bike tour from Florence to Siena. Help us bike quickly and safely with these cool hybrid bikes, helmets, and other gear.

On the first night of our bike tour we stay at this lovely villa in Fabbrica. We'll have a traditional Tuscan dinner there with a sampling of the estate wines. Probably need it after biking all day...

After we bike all day and eat the Tuscan dinner and drink the wine, we are going to immediately fall asleep here.

This is a hotel... AND its name translates to "The White Lion"! 'Nuff said.

Our bike tour starts in Florence, so we gotta get a good night's sleep here.

After three days of biking on stomachs full of wine and salumi, we are really, really going to appreciate this place!

You call them croissants! (They are not big on scrambled eggs and bacon in Rome. Gotta leave room for a big, long lunch of pasta and wine...)

We can't carry all those roller bags on our bikes. This nice man will transport our luggage to each stop on our tour so we don't have to wear bike shorts to dinner.
