The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights is the nation's oldest, largest, and most diverse civil and human rights coalition. Since its founding in 1950, it has led legislative advocacy efforts on behalf of every major civil rights law. The Leadership Conference tackles a number of issues close to our hearts - from voting rights to educational equity to justice reform - in its fight to fulfill the promises of our democracy. In fact, Sofia was inspired to go to law school after hearing Wade Henderson, former president of the Leadership Conference, speak in a hearing on Capitol Hill in 2014.

The Student Conservation Association is a non-profit group in the United States whose mission is to build the next generation of conservation leaders and inspire lifelong stewardship of the environment. William volunteered with them in the Golden Trout Wilderness during 2009 and as a crew leader in the Washington DC National Parks during 2013. He loves them for bringing together people from all backgrounds to build a climate-oriented community and providing novel pathways to employment for low-income populations most impacted by climate change.
