Course Details Tahoe Mountain School offers 1 day Intro to Avalanche Courses, AIARE 1 Avalanche Courses, AIARE 2 Avalanche Courses, AIARE 1 Refresher Courses and AIARE Rescue Courses. AIARE 1 course price includes: AIARE field blue book, student manual and use of Ortovox avalanche safety equipment (transceiver, probe, shovel, and pack), and online curriculum to help you prepare for your course. All of our avalanche courses are based on the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE) program curriculum. AIARE is the country's foremost authority on avalanche education. Our instructors are full time snow professionals including American Mountain Guide Association (AMGA) certified ski and mountain guides, avalanche forecasters and Sierra Avalanche Center observers. Tahoe Mountain School spends a significant amount of time on each course in the field, focusing on hands-on learning, coaching, and supervised decision-making.
