Regardless of whether we are staying on Molokai or the Big Island, swimming with dolphins and sea turtles will be happening on the honeymoon. The good news: we'll be there in the middle of whale watching season. The bad news: we'll also be there during the rainy season. This means rip tides and current swill be stronger than normal, and a guide is a necessity for us to stay safe. If on Molokai, we'll be visiting Hawaii's largest coral reef along the south shore. On the Big Island, we would be doing this near the Captain Cook Monument. (Don't worry, the websites are very specific - Keith is not allowed to ride a dolphin.)

One of the major driving factors of visiting Hawaii is the opportunity to be in the natural breathtaking beauty with little cost. Sites like Rainbow Falls, Volcanoes National Park, Kanakou Preserve, and Halawa Beach are only short drives regardless of which island we choose. But here's the rub: a gallon of gas on some of the islands can cost $5! So support our adventurous side by buying us a tank of gas while in Hawaii.

The Kaluapapa Guided Mule Tour - The island of Molokai is home to two Catholic saints, Damien de Veuster and Marianne Cope. These holy people ministered to the leper colony of Kaluapapa. We desire our marriage to be fully rooted in Christ, thus to undertake this pilgrimage is the penultimate desire of our honeymoon. The trip includes a 6-mile mule ride through 52 switchbacks to the remote Kaluapapa peninsula, which is home to Damien and Marriane's church, some of their remains, and the remnants of the leper colony (approximately 12 patients still reside in the colony). OR Starry Night, Lava Cave, Waterfall Tour - The Big Island hosts remarkable geological features (hello, volcano), expansive waterfalls, and unbelievable night skies. Megan and I skipped over engagement photos. This tour boasts a professional photographer who will capture some for us! Give us the chance to see some of the most beautiful elements of the Big Island with romantic photographs to litter our new home.
