The Santa Fe Fiesta is the oldest, continuously held community event in the country and dates back to 1712. Native American, Spanish and Western traditions are incorporated during events that take up the entire week. The highlight of the fiesta is the burning of Zozobra, or "old man gloom," which is a huge paper marionette that symbolizes ridding oneself of the old and embracing the new - a very fitting tradition for newlyweds, we think! In addition, the week is filled with dance, music, art, parades, theater and food held throughout the historic downtown.
