Alabama Whistleblower Defense Fund
Group gift
The Alabama Whistleblower Defense Fund protects incarcerated activists who risk state retaliation to expose injustices within the system, many of whom are featured in Charlotte's latest film, The Alabama Solution (for which Josh provided informal right-brained statistical consultation). Contributions support a team of lawyers challenging retaliatory actions—including solitary confinement, revocation of communication and visitation privileges, and physical punishment.

Bard Prison Initiative
Group gift
BPI offers rigorous, high-quality liberal arts programs in prison, providing the same challenging curriculum as Bard College’s main campus and creating transformative educational opportunities behind bars—and beyond. Josh first learned about BPI’s impact through one of his Ph.D. advisors, who teaches in the program. Inspired by this work, he plans to teach at a New York State correctional facility next year. https://bpi.bard.edu/

Chaplain Curtis Browder Ministries
Group gift
Since 1992 this nonprofit has supported prison outreach and reentry. Donations will help cover the utility and operational costs of a 33-bed reentry facility in Montgomery which helps formerly incarcerated men transition back into society. The program addresses a vital shortage in the state, often resulting in parole denials due to lack of a housing plan. We have witnessed up close the very tangible impact Chap's work has on people’s lives. https://iammore123.wixsite.com/chaplaincbministries
