In 2014, David moved to Nepal where he met a young woman named Nasreen Sheikh. She had recently fled an arranged marriage and decided to take charge of her own life as an independent woman by becoming an entrepreneur. She opened her own store creating and selling crafts, clothing, and accessories. She employed and trained other women seeking the simplest thing -- a choice in their futures. One year later, David introduced Cassie to Nasreen (online, of course) in hopes they could learn from each other. Today, Cassie is an advisor on the Board of Directors for LOCWOM, working alongside David, Nasreen, and hundreds of empowered women to close the global gap in opportunities for women. LOCWOM provides training in sewing, crafts, trade, business management, leadership, and more in a mission to empower women -- worldwide.
