It will be a long journey, but worth every penny! Our flight cost is round trip and includes the SkyCouch, which is a whole row to ourselves that can turn into a bed to recline and lay down so we'll be extra comfy!

We begin our adventure in Auckland! On our first day, we’ll be exploring New Zealand's largest city and having a welcome dinner with fellow Lord of the Rings fans.

The Green Dragon is the most famous spot in all The Shire. This location is a functioning pub and we'll be enjoying a few pints and a meal in the most iconic tavern in literature.

On this day, we'll go hiking in the beautiful Mangaotaki Valley. These amazing limestone cliffs form the foothills for the movie's Misty Mountains. Notably, this is wear Bilbo finds his iconic sword, Sting!

On Day 4, we'll be mostly traveling. On the way we get to stop by a beautifully cascading waterfall, where Gollum caught a fish. We'll also travel past the filming location of the Lonely Mountain - Bilbo's destination and the home of Smaug the dragon in the Hobbit movies.

Wellington, also called 'Wellywood' is the home base for the New Zealand film industry and the capital of the country. We'll spend two days there taking an exclusive tour of the Weta Workshop, where Lord of the Rings films (and others) practical effects were developed. If you know us well, Wellington is also where What We Do in the Shadows was originally filmed.

Today we'll be kayaking down the Te Hoiere or Pelorus River, a fantastic gorge river. This river is where Thorin and Company rode in barrels to escape the Elves of Mirkwood.

This day we have the option to take a Helicopter ride over stunning filming locations that are otherwise unreachable by foot. Sites include Rivendell, Bree, and real-life Kahurangi National Park. It might be the only way Carla ever gets in a helicopter!

Today we'll spend traveling alongside the Kaikōura Coast. One of the most notable stops is to see the seal colony! Dolphins and whales are also commonly spotted off the coast, so we're crossing our fingers.

On Day 10 we'll visit the land of the horse lords, Rohan and the Golden Hall of Edoras. With real-life Mount Cook playing the role of the Misty Mountains in the background, this is a fan-favorite location. Cue the theme of the Rohirrim!

Ben Ohau Station played host to the largest scene in The Return Of The King, where 1,000+ cast/crew and 280 horses staged the battle between the Orcs of Mordor and the Men of Gondor and Rohan. We'll get to re-enact some of that, with an archery range built on site! Who will win this contest? Carla or Bryan?

A day full of stops for us, we'll visit the River Anduin aka real-life Kawarau River. This is where the Fellowship spent it's last moments together, canoeing between the statues of Isildur and Anárion (dubbed the Argonath). Some of our tour-mates will bungie jump here... Bryan is undecided, Carla not so much.

We'll spend the day hiking the Mavora Lakes. Along the way, we'll see Fangorn Forest (and maybe some Ents), the Orc funeral pyre, and where Gandalf called Shadowfax, the lord of all horses.

Our final day on the tour, we'll get to choose our optional activities. We might take a Safari 4WD tour, tasting some delicious white wine, a hot spring spa, or a jet-boat cruise on Lake Wakatipu.

On our second day of the tour, we get to visit Hobbiton! This is the actual filming location from the Hobbit movies. Fully immersed in a Carla-sized village of hobbit homes at the height of summer.
