Our plants need a winter getaway where they won't freeze, and unfortunately, they have outgrown our windowsills inside!

HRC is the largest LGBTQ advocacy organization in the US and has led the way in the fight for equal rights for our LGBTQIA+ family since 1980. Without the work of HRC and its members in the fight for marriage equality, we wouldn't even be having this wedding.

Tegan and Sara Quin (of the eponymous band) make some great music, but they're also pretty stellar advocates whose outspoken feminism and proud queerness has had profound impact on the lives of many. Their foundation works for economic justice, health, and representation for LGBTQ girls and women. We're big fans!

We are giant public radio nerds and couldn't function without KUT, our local NPR station. We love the trustworthy news and powerful human interest stories that drive public radio reporting, and we really value the opportunity that public radio provides to its listeners to be engaged and informed about their local, national, and global communities. We spend hours and hours a week listening to National Public Radio and podcasts from NPR and Slate and Vox and Crooked Media, plus plenty of time reading reporting from those sources and many more. We feel that all this media binging comes with the responsibility to support and protect the journalists bringing us the stories we rely on to stay informed and engaged. CPJ serves and defends journalists around the world, and we're incredibly grateful for the work they do!

SPLC is an absolute powerhouse in the fight for civil rights. They've been huge players in many of the fights that are most important to us - criminal justice reform, LGBTQIA+ rights, children's rights, economic justice - and continue to do incredible work to fight hate, teach tolerance, and demand justice.

The health of the environment and public access to our nation's most beautiful natural areas are incredibly important to us. Most of the things we love to do most - fly fish, hike, camp, visit state and national parks - wouldn't be possible without the impassioned work of organizations like the NRDC to protect and preserve our public lands and natural resources.

Donors Choose empowers public school teachers (like Caris!) and donors (like you!) by connecting them to fund projects and provide supplies for students and classrooms across the country. The mission is near and dear to us for obvious reasons, but the means is really cool, too! You can browse and donate to individual projects based on location, topic, level of urgency, etc. so that you know exactly how and for whom you made a difference.

We love doggies! We also love kitty cats. We really, really wish we could adopt them all but really, really have our hands full with Gertie and Gus. The next best thing is supporting Best Friends, an organization dedicated to making sure there are no more homeless pets and to making every shelter a no-kill shelter.

Our beloved coffee maker is on the fritz! We could really use a replacement.
