There's a lot that goes into starting a new life together. And because we don't have our new place yet, there are a lot of things we can't register for. So if you don't have strong feelings on mixers, but still want to help us out in getting started, we will certainly appreciate it!

Emma has always loved biking and this summer on their honeymoon, she will attempt her first long-distance bike ride. She would love to own a high quality touring bike that she can use for long trips, and runs to the grocery store alike.

For our honeymoon, we plan on staying at the beautiful Wickaninnish Inn on Vancouver Island before embarking on an extended camping trip. This is one of the most beautiful areas in the world and your contributions will go to such worthy causes as teaching Ben to surf, getting Emma a massage, and ensuring they both are well fed and happy.

The International Rescue Committee works to help people in areas affected by violence and conflict and to help recently arrived refugees and immigrants during the resettlement process. Given the scope and global impact of the current refugee crisis caused by the Syrian civil war, their work is timely and important.

While you may know the ALS Association primarily from the ice bucket challenge a few years ago, this is an organization that has been supporting important work for a long time. ALS is a disease that has deeply impacted Ben's family -- his uncle passed away from it around the same time Ben was born.

This is an important humanitarian aid organization that is doing great work on the ground in some of the worst emergencies around the world. P.s. Emma wants to work here.

After she graduated from university, Emma spent a summer organizing the Aga Khan Foundation's annual charity walk, the World Partnership Walk. This summer, she is participating in the walk again.
