The Greg Moyer Defibrillator Fund’s mission is to raise public awareness about the need for automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) for assistance in heart-related emergencies. They purchase and grant AEDs to first responding emergency medical assistance groups, schools, and other places of public gathering. The Moyer family created this foundation after their son, Greg, lost his life to sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) on December 2, 2000. No AED (automatic external defibrillator) was available until paramedics arrived 30 minutes later. Had an AED been available on site, Greg’s life could have been saved.
