As we travel around Iceland, we will be opting out of the hotel experience in favor of traditional Icelandic guesthouses.

Help us eat our way across Iceland! As most of you know, Brian loves food, and Annie LOVES food, so we're very excited to experience Iceland through all of the skyr, pylsur, and varieties of seafood dishes that we can get our hands on.

Help us spend the first night of our honeymoon at the spectacular Ion Hotel. A mixture of exciting architecture and sustainable design, the hotel brings in Icelandic nature through its food, spa, floor to ceiling windows, and proximity to the UNESCO-listed Thingvellir National Park.

Our first night in Iceland we are staying at the famous Ion Hotel. Help us enjoy their wonderful spa and relax on the first night of our honeymoon.

The Silfra Restaurant at the Ion Hotel serves seasonal Nordic cuisine using local, farm-fresh ingredients. Dinner will be accompanied by beer, liqueur, or spirits from one of Iceland's microbreweries. Brian and I highly value locavore cuisine, and are excited to get a real taste of Iceland through this farm-to-table dinner on the first night of our honeymoon.

We're starting our marriage off with an adventure, spending two weeks road-tripping around Iceland! Help get us on our way with the wheels to take us from guest house to guest house as we explore our way through our honeymoon.

We're going where few tourists go, and spending a day venturing in to the Icelandic highlands. We're staying in a mountain hut, reachable only by 4-wheel drive, surrounded by the colorful mountains of Landmannalaugar. (Notice the tiny people in the lower left of the photo - that could be us!)

Located between Eurasian and North American tectonic plates, in the heart of Þingvellir National park (a UNESCO World Heritage site), Silfra is one of the world’s best-kept underwater secrets and frequently rated as one of the world’s top ten diving sites. We would love to swim in the crystal clear water between continents.

A zodiac boat tour will get us up close and personal with the icebergs of the Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, situated at the head of a nearby glacier.

We're heading to Húsavík, one of the best places in the world for whale watching. We'll be heading out on a traditional Icelandic oak boat, hoping to catch a glimpse of the humpback and blue whales that frequent the waters up there.

Aside from a beautiful tour from horseback in the Icelandic countryside, we're hoping to try out the tolt and "flying pace" that are so unique to the Iceland horses!
