I work in East Baltimore, and recently Ben and I got a tour of the nearby neighborhood. Where a lot of it is struggling with vacancies, a high unemployment rate, and numerous other compounding societal and economic problems, the Club at Collington Square is an after-school and summer program for children in the neighborhood. The Club is doing great work in supporting children, but always needs support. Lutheran & Immigration Refugee Services is a Baltimore-based nonprofit that assists church partners in resettling migrants and refugees in the US. It is also where my sister Deanne currently works and is right next door to Christ Lutheran Church, which Ben and I have started attending.
