You'll be helping us experience the following: From the pier, we’ll take a 1¾-hour ride by motor coach to the remarkable UNESCO World Heritage ruins of Pompeii, perfectly preserved since the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D. We’ll learn about excavation techniques and what residents were doing at the time of the eruption, gaining insight into ancient Roman life as we explore baths, theaters, temples, markets, and the large forum with the Arch of Nero.

We’re excited to tell you about the excursion you’re making possible: Monemvasia is unique among ruined medieval cities in that it is built entirely on a rock. Our tour begins with a walk through the castle’s streets. We’ll see ruined houses and Byzantine churches. Next we’ll visit "Liotrivi" (Olive Oil Factory). We’ll have a guided tour of the old olive mill to learn the traditional method of producing extra‑virgin olive oil, then walk through vineyards and olive groves.
