My home state of Kerala has been devastated by floods, nearly 500 people have been killed, and the numbers are rising. While the rains have ended, there is so much work to be done there. People’s lives and homes have been devastated, and will takes years to rebuild. In the immediate aftermath people need access to food, shelter, medicines and other basic necessities. Please consider donating to my State Government’s Official Relief Fund. Suggested donation is $25, but feel free to donate more.

Dreaming Out Loud is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building equitable, community-based food systems. They work to increase access to healthy food while also developing food entrepreneurs and cooperatives in low-income areas. Erica learned about Dreaming Out Loud about three years ago when she went to an event where they celebrated reaching 40,000 people through their farmers markets. Casa Pueblo is a Puerto Rican nonprofit dedicated to sustainable community development. They have an environmental focus and their projects include increasing access to solar energy, environmental education, a coffee enterprise, and environmental activism.
