The mission of the Idaho Humane Society is to advocate for the welfare and responsible care of animals, protect them from neglect and cruelty, and promote humane education, awareness, and compassion. The Idaho Humane Society will continue to grow and meet the demand to shelter, feed, provide medical attention to, and find adoptive homes for abandoned and abused animals in our community; to share information with Idahoans about the proper care of their own pets; to prevent animal overpopulation; and to promote kindness to animals. We envision a humane Idaho in which healthy and adoptable animals are no longer euthanized, and both domestic animals and wildlife are treated with compassion and respect. The Boise Bicycle Project promotes the personal, social, and environmental benefits of bicycling. Through inclusive access to refurbished bicycles, repair, and empowering educational experiences, we strive to build a stronger bicycling community. Gender, economic, and racial inequities persist in the cycling industry- rooted in white supremacist, male-dominated, and heteronormative culture. The only way BBP can achieve its mission is by creating inclusive spaces in our shop, on our rides, at our events, and in our community for groups of people who have systematically been marginalized. We want to reaffirm our ongoing commitment to black, indigenous, people of color, all bodies and abilities, LGBTQ+ people, and other marginalized communities. We will back up this commitment with actions, outcomes, and continual evaluation. We invite you to join us in this work with courage and curiosity! All proceeds will go toward the Boise Bucycle Project.
