We are looking forward to visiting Santa Giulia winery in Montalcino to explore the famed Brunellos of the region as well as to experience a zero-kilometer meal, where all of the ingredients are sourced from within less than a kilometer of where they’re eaten. Tuscan farmers know the “same” produce can taste quite different, depending on the conditions in which it’s grown — soil, sun exposure, micro-climate, etc. We look forward to enjoying Gianluca's wine, olive oli, prosciutto, and pecorino!

We are excited to have the opportunity to join Alessandro, a descendent of generations of Tuscan farmers for a small gathering "Tuscan BBQ." We will enjoy a variety of grilled delights as well as share in the fruits of his labor, such as extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, and wine!

We are excited to visit the town of Montepulciano on our honeymoon and in particular to visit this historic cellar, housed in a former Renaissance palace, whose three naves support immense semicircular arches and ribbed vaults, resembling a Romanesque-Gothic Cathedral. The dimensions and material of the cellar helps to keep the wine during the fermentation process at a constant temperature during all the year.

Several wineries in Italy harness sea water in their wine making process. This winery has a fascinating approach of submerging freshly harvested grapes in wicker baskets for several days. The saltwater gently removes the waxy coating on the grape skins after which they are left to dry in the sun, then fermented and aged for six months in terracotta.
