Alexandra’s family was a host family for a Notre Dame student, Majak Anyieth, from South Sudan. Majak went to high school in a refugee camp because there was no functional high school near his home. While at Notre Dame, he committed to create a world class high school, called the "Greenbelt Academy," in this rural part of South Sudan.
