Atfer the wedding, we have decided to stay local for our honeymoon. Just a little over two hours down the road from home, we’ll be spending a romantic week in Vail, hiking some scenic trails, eating good food, relaxing around fires, and hopefully seeing the first snow of the year (or arriving just after it, judging from the past). It will be off-season for the ski towns, so we're anticipating a quiet week at the Sonnenalp Hotel with a day or two exploring the spa. We are excited to spend a little time (not to far) away from home to start off our marriage with some time together in a beautiful mountain town!

Besides the fact that making my own chicken and vegetable stock is one of my favorites, we also love making soup. It ever there was a kitchen gadget that, at least 3 times in the last month, I have stood around my kitchen, in the middle of a cooking project, wishing for... it would be this. Basil-Lime dressing just isn't the same when you can't blend the basil in properly.

Chocolate-chip banana bread, anyone?

This may seem like one of those "silly" things people put on their wedding registry that they'll never use - but believe it or not, paella is one of my favorite dishes to make! The chicken paella recipe on amazingribs.com is the BEST! Maybe I'll even get brave enough that I'll try a seafood paella...

Nemo will forgive us for unleashing this in our home. He doesn't understand the horrible mess that his shedding makes on a daily basis, but this little gadget will certainly know - and hopefully help!

This may be what Nick is most excited about. If you saw the amount of dog hair we hand-clean off our floors everyday, you'd understand. And saying "everyday" isn't an exaggeration. If we didn't attend to the tumbleweeds of dog hair every day, we'd be in trouble.
