We met at The University of Kansas when Jacob was a junior and Jenna was a sophomore. Jenna recalls their very first conversation in the basement of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church right after Jacob had become Catholic at the Easter Vigil in 2018. Jenna stayed in Lawrence that summer and that's when Jacob and Jenna first started becoming friends. Over the next year Jacob and Jenna developed their friendship and both grew in their desire to be missionaries. Jacob started working for FOCUS in 2019 and Jenna followed in 2020. Jacob was sent to Cape Girardeau, Missouri and served there for 2 years. In his third year with FOCUS he moved to the St. Louis area and the following year he moved to Denver, Colorado! Jenna was sent to Fort Collins, Colorado and served there for 3 years. In her fourth year with FOCUS she moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota. It was in Jenna's 3rd year and Jacob's 4th year that the two were finally in the same state again! After sliding into Jenna's DMs in the fall the two rekindled their friendship but it wasn't until Mardi Gras in 2023 that Jacob asked Jenna out! The two made things official on Cinco De Mayo on top of Horsetooth Mountain in Fort Collins. Thus they began long distance dating in August. Both would say that long distance is a challenge but the purification that comes from it makes every struggle worth the wait. After many plane rides, facetimes, and letters Jacob proposed on March 30, 2023 right before the Easter Vigil. With so many happy tears Jenna was excited to say “yes” to her best friend!◡̈ Jacob and Jenna are excited to get married in December and share a life together. They hope their vocation will be a blessing to others and a witness to God's great love for humanity. As the date inches closer and closer, please pray for them through the intercession of the Holy Family and Our Lady of Perpetual Help! God Bless!
