As much as they might hesitate to admit it, their story began on Hinge. Maybe not the most “storybook” start (at least according to Zuzanna) but sometimes the most unexpected paths lead exactly where they’re meant to. After all, it feels like the only way two people from opposite sides of the world could find each other was with a little help from above… and a dating app. Zuzanna remembers it vividly. On the morning of December 31st, 2022, she woke up in her cousin’s daughter’s room, thinking, “Finally, the last day of this terrible year.” What she didn’t know, lying there in that small bed, was that before the day was over, she would match with the love of her life. When Joseph reached out, he casually mentioned that he was Polish—which, unsurprisingly, immediately caught Zuzanna’s attention (for very obvious reasons). He forgot to mention he was also Canadian. And Filipino. And Chinese. And Scottish. And apparently - Irish. They kept chatting, though anyone who’s ever used a dating app knows: if you don’t meet within a week, the chances of it ever happening are… slim. But then something unexpected happened. While traveling to Kraków with his best friends, Joe was reminded of Zuzanna and decided to reach out. Instead of sending a photo of himself, he sent a picture of a massive, nearly two-meter-long zapiekanka, asking, “What on earth is this?” Safe to say—that message worked. Fast forward to February 5th, 2023, when they finally met in person at an Italian wine bar in Marylebone, they... well, didn't fall in love immediately, but they kept dating. And dating... and dating... Until date number 6394739847 (according to their dear Best Man), something clicked and they officially... held hands! And the rest… is history! :)
