It was 2017. It had been almost four years since Zufan left her family to chase her dreams in the U.S.. It was then that she saw a music concert flyer for a gospel singer that hailed from the same region as her parents. Having seen the singer visit their family when she was young, she knew she had to take time off from work to not miss his concert. Meanwhile, Barok had just moved to the Maryland area after parting ways with his younger brother whom he had gone to school with for the most of his last 18 years. He was delighted to start this transition by taking part in the concert of his beloved pastor. Zufan and Barok found themselves at this concert through their mutual love for the singer but their own ‘love’ story did not begin until the very end. Zufan had caught the singer outside to greet him. He delightedly embraced her like his own daughter. Then in a momentous way he turned around and spotted Barok. He instructed him to invite her to a bible study and make sure she is befriended. That moment sparked a journey that we will celebrate on September 7th.
