Do yourself a favor and eat here. Almond croissant in the morning and curried chicken salad sandwich for lunch. If for some reason you're in the area and Jane isn't hitting the spot, we happen to live in the middle of a triangle of excellent pastry. Try B. Patisserie for the Kouign Amann or Arsticault for the croissants.
We asked them if they do wedding catering – sadly, they do not. Hook Fish Marin was our post-engagement celebration lunch and the fish of the day burrito is one of our favorite meals in the city. An exceptional place for a quick lunch after exploring around Mt. Tam. There's also one in the Sunset District in San Francisco.
Best breakfast sandwich in SF, and I don't say that lightly
Mount Tam is a bay area classic for a hike, bike ride, or drive. Just across the Golden Gate and through Marin, Tam offers an amazing view of the city and the coast. (We also got engaged on our bikes halfway up!)
Widely considered one of the best burritos in San Francisco
Classic SF brewery with great beer, food, and usually high dog:human ratio
Classic SF restaurant with California food served Tapas style
Another well known restaurant in San Francisco with cocktails as good as the food
The Lyon Street Steps offer a lookout over the Palace of Fine Arts, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Presidio. Walk down the steps to the Palace and up Chrissy Fields along the water or turn left into the Presidio through Lover's Lane for a long walk
If you have the time for a day trip and are an oyster lover, take a day trip to Tomales Bay. Bring a blanket and a bottle of wine, grab oysters and a couple shucking knives from Tomales Bay Oyster Co or Hog Island Oyster Co and have yourself a picnic
If we're not playing games in someone's living room on a weekend night, we're probably here
Great ~10 mile out and back (lots of distance options) up to the top of Mt. Saint Helena with views of Calistoga and surrounding vineyards. Fanatstic for a hike, run, or bike
Start at the Calistoga bike shop and rent regular or ebikes. Then ride through vineyards or along the napa valley vine trail
A paved trail that runs from Calistoga through Saint Helena, then resumes from Yountville to Downtown Napa. Bike the trail to see Bothe Napa Valley State Park, then park your bikes at one of the many vineyards for lunch and a glass of wine
Fantastic food, great cocktails, and adorable patio. Parker and I came here on one of our first "research trips" to Calistoga and it immediately became a favorite.
