Yes, we are asking all guests who are able to receive the vaccine to please be fully vaccinated before the wedding! As we’re sure you can imagine, we are closely monitoring COVID and how it will impact our wedding plans. We are thrilled that we are one step closer to celebrating with you, and the health and safety of our friends and family continue to be our priority. We have several high-risk attendees and given that this is going to be a room full of friends and family that we love dearly, we feel strongly that this is the best option to ensure the safety and comfort of all of our guests.
Right now, we are kindly asking that all guests who are planning to attend the wedding please receive a negative COVID test 48-72 hours prior to our wedding. While we are not requiring guests to upload their negative test results, we feel strongly that this added precautionary step will give us peace of mind and allow us to better enjoy our special weekend. We apologize for the inconvenience but really appreciate your understanding.
On March 8th, 2021, the CDC made an announcement stating that "fully vaccinated people will be allowed to gather indoors with other fully vaccinated people without wearing masks or social distancing." This means that wedding guests, if vaccinated, will be able to gather, unmasked, with others who are vaccinated. That being said, we completely understand and respect any guests who may wish to wear a mask on the day. As the CDC and the state of Virginia update their policies, we will evaluate our mask policy and let guests know accordingly.
We recommend flying in to Dulles International Airport (IAD) because it is only 15-20 minutes away from the hotels with room blocks. However, you can also fly in to Ronald Reagan Airport (DCA), which is about 45 minutes away.
While a car would definitely be helpful if you'd like to do some activities farther out from the hotel(s), there are Ubers/Lyfts in the area that you can use to get around to nearby attractions and to/from the airport.
Totally up to you! We will be at the Lansdowne Resort starting Friday, October 15th, and will be ready to party! However, the first official event will be the Welcome Reception on Saturday evening, October 16th, and the main event will take place on Sunday evening, October 17th. Check out our "Things to Do" page for ideas on how to plan out your days.
Yes! We will be providing shuttle service from the Lansdowne Resort and SpringHill Suites Ashburn Dulles North to the Middleburg Barn on Sunday, October 17th. Guests using the shuttle service should be prepared to board shuttles by 4:15 pm. The Middleburg Barn is about a 30-minute drive from the Lansdowne Resort and Spa.
Yes, there is parking!
Think "farm fancy" aka cocktail attire minus the stilettos. The reception will be inside but the ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside on the grass and patio so dress accordingly and bring a jacket just in case it gets chilly.
We love your kids- we really do. But we want our wedding night to be your night off! We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us. For those traveling with children, please reach out to us (thezubrows@gmail.com) for information on recommended hotel babysitting services.
Our Saturday night Welcome Party will take place outside, weather permitting. As for our wedding on Sunday, the wedding ceremony and cocktail hour will also be held outdoors, weather permitting. The wedding reception (dinner and dancing) will be held indoors in a large and well-ventilated event space with a capacity of holding 350 seated guests. The Middleburg Barn has 35-foot ceilings and french doors that open to the side patios. They have also installed ultraviolet lights in their HVAC systems so that the air flowing is clean of viruses and molds as it continuously filters the air in the room. With this being said, we understand that some people may not feel comfortable eating indoors unmasked. We ask that you please reach out to us if you would prefer accommodations such as an outdoor table.
Rest assured we will keep you in the loop regarding any important changes with an email alert. Thank you for your patience as we all move through this unprecedented time together!
We are planning on live-streaming our wedding ceremony for our family and friends who are unable to make it in person. More information will be provided as we get closer to the big weekend!
